A great book. A great play. I was impressed with the IRT's production of To Kill A Mockingbird. Beforehand, I was positive I would hate it, because I thought it would stray too far from the book. The child actors were only about nine, and I thought they did very nice jobs, with the exception of overacting at times. I thought most of the roles were cast perfectly, and blocking seemed very natural, unlike some of Macbeth. The set-up of the stage was new. I love how that theatre redoes the stage to where even the hardwood that you are used to changes. Everything blended so well. There were only a few things that I was a little disappointed with: The accents were not uniform, and costume was not varied enough for me. I couldn't understand Scout much of the time. And finally the rest of the audience did not seem to appreciate the play. We had better company at Macbeth where almost everyone else was younger than us. It was distracting to the play. Overall, I thought it was very well put together and worth the trip. I would definitely recommend it!

Graduate, Paper Chase, We'll Get Out of this Place
So I've been thinking a lot lately, a dangerous habit, I know. But it seems like everything is changing... My conversation with Calla last night shed some new light on how different everything is and how imperative it is to have good friends. The whole world is waiting for our entrance, but it isn't about to wait for us. I guess I never really gave the word Senioritis any thought until I became a victim, along with much of the rest of my class. It's not about getting out, or wanting to be somewhere else. It's realizing that nothing is ever going to quite be the same. That those people who have been a foundation your whole life won't be there in a few months' time. That everything you have worked to build up here is soon going to be just another number, another graduation cap tossed in the air. As much as it sometimes pains me, and as hard as it is to say this delicately, I'm so looking forward to life. I want to explore new places and meet new people. I want to go away and have a life of my choosing. But I really am going to miss some of the things I've gotten so used to, like the stability of this small community or knowing most of the people I see everyday. It would be nice if I could know I'll never lose those people that have had such an impact on my life, but as we all know, it a promise no one can keep. Recent events have led me yet again to this conclusion. So surround yourself with everything and everyone that is important to you here, and enjoy the next few months. Keep me in your address book and maybe we can talk about just how different things turned out. :D
All the best,
Katie

Let's Talk About the Weather...
So today we get to school... after driving on nasty wet roads, and find out that we will be dismissing at noon! I am super excited about this, as I know most of my classmates are. The only drawback to this is that during bad weather where possible wrecks are more likely to occur, a certain Brittany and I are not allowed to drive. That means we get the privilege of being surrounded by a screaming inferno of hyperactive demons... Oh. Joy. My mom did drive me to school this morning, but I can already hear the headache-instigating ride home. It will either be too hot or too cold, but always too crowded and loud. I am thinking the Christmas present of candy might work as a decoy... Or possibly just a drug for me, like cocaine. It's supposed to make you feel better for a while. Chocoholic: The best definition for me this season.
Wishing you happiness and patience in this final week.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
I just wanted to tell everyone to have a very happy and filling Thanksgiving! I know I will. My whole family will be over to share in the mountains of food. Then we will probably play Shanghai Rummy, which is only my favorite card game ever... And I am kind of amazing at it. :D
Black Friday is almost as fun for me! I love having a reason to be violent and aggressive while I'm shopping! Haha! Besides, I enjoy sales. Later that day, I'll probably go with my aunt from Georgia to the movies to see Twilight again. Saturday, I'm wanting to get my hair and nails done and maybe go tanning. If anyone wants to go, let me know!

Invisible Children Benefit
The show I mentioned in my last post at the Intersect Venue is a benefit concert for Invisible Children. If you go, you will be supporting great music and a great cause. I thought that might be a little more incentive for some of you to go.
In other news...
The new Fall Out Boy CD FOLIE a(this has a funny little mark above it that I don't know how to type) DEUX will be released on December 15 and 16! This will be epic, I'm sure. Any day now there should be a Baby Wentz to join the chaos...
Panic at the Disco is also releasing a live CD/DVD from their Honda Civic Tour that I attended... where I met them... ;)
That's all for now I guess! Happy listening!
.xo.

All-Region Honor Band
This weekend is All-Region Honor Band, and I would like to congratulate everyone that has been accepted; I know it will be a blast, just like last year! The repertoire is advanced, and for good reason. I'm so excited to get to play with such a talented ensemble. Anyone who would like to (by the way, you definitely would), should come to our concert on Sunday afternoon at Loogootee. We will have only practiced all of Saturday to prepare. I'm sure it will be breathtaking. Can't wait until my lips start bleeding again!
Hopefully, I will get to wind down Saturday evening with some friends who are playing at the Intersect Venue. It will definitely be a fun time. Fire Hazard! has written a few new songs to show off, and it would be my first time seeing my other friend's band perform. I'm really hoping I can go! You should too.
I'm all for publicity today!
Sending sonatas and screamo... ;)

FIRE HAZARD!
A friend of mine is in this band called Fire Hazard!, named so because of the members' bright red hair. There are only two people that make up this ensemble, a guitarist and a drummer that take turns singing. They are surprisingly good (no offense). I hope you take the time to listen to them on Myspace or maybe even go to their next show on November 15. Just try not to get burned by their hotness... :P
